About me

Who I Am

I’m Cala, also known as The London Montessorian—a Montessori homeschool teacher, parent consultant, and tutor with nearly 20 years of experience in early childhood and primary education. With a background in Psychology (BSc) and a Master’s in Education, I specialise in creating nurturing, purposeful learning experiences that centre the whole child.

My Journey

For over a decade, I led the Children’s House at one of London’s top Montessori schools and served as SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), supporting children with diverse learning profiles. In 2012, I contributed to an international guidebook aligning Montessori principles with the UK Early Years Framework, bridging Montessori with mainstream education.

I’ve since deepened my work through the AMI 6–12 Assistant Guide course, broadening my understanding of the developing child from infancy through to the pre-teen years.

What I Do Now

Today, I work directly with children aged 3–11 and their families across three key areas:

• Montessori Homeschool Teaching – Delivering personalised, child-led learning in the home environment.

• Parent Consulting – Supporting parents with practical, Montessori-aligned strategies to nurture confident, independent children.

• Tutoring – Offering one-to-one support in literacy and numeracy, rooted in Montessori and National Curriculum goals.

Whether guiding children through their first writing lesson or helping families manage screen time and bedtime routines, my work is built on compassion, clarity, and connection.

My Approach

I believe education should be respectful, empowering, and joyful. I help families create calm learning environments and foster independence, empathy, and curiosity in their children without needing expensive resources or rigid systems.

The London Montessorian is not just a service, it’s a partnership with families. Together, we build routines and rhythms that support your child’s learning and your family’s wellbeing.
