About me

Who I Am

I am Cala, founder of The London Montessorian.

I am a Montessori educator, educational consultant and parent advisor with nearly 20 years of experience in early childhood and primary education. My academic background includes a BSc in Psychology and a Master’s in Education, grounding my practice in both developmental science and educational theory.

I am also one of the directors of Molly Montessori, a structured Montessori homeschool community for children aged 5–11, supporting families through a carefully prepared and hands-on approach to child-led learning.

Professional Experience

For over a decade, I led the Children’s House at one of London’s leading Montessori schools and served as SENCO, guiding children with diverse learning profiles and developmental needs. My work has included curriculum leadership, parent guidance and specialist support across early years and primary stages.

In 2012, I contributed to an international guidebook aligning Montessori principles with the UK Early Years Framework, helping to bridge authentic Montessori practice with national educational standards.

I have further expanded my practice through the AMI 6–12 Assistant Guide course, deepening my understanding of the developing child from early childhood through to the pre-teen years.

My Work Today

Through The London Montessorian, I support children and families across three integrated areas:

Montessori Tuition

Individualised, one-to-one academic support in literacy and numeracy, delivered through a structured Montessori pathway that builds independence, precision and lasting understanding. Where appropriate, I also support children with additional (SEN) learning needs, with a focus on confidence, independence and practical strategies that translate into everyday life.

Parent Consultations

Thoughtful, practical guidance to support routines, behaviour, independence and emotional development through a developmentally informed lens.

Home Environment Reviews

Professional recommendations to help families create calm, purposeful spaces that strengthen concentration, responsibility and confidence.
